Batik created using traditional methods (see below)

with stitched tabs for ease of hanging.
To make this batik first the design was traced by the artisan onto the cloth. Then selected areas of the cloth were blocked out by brushing hot wax onto them and the cloth was then dyed. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original colour. This process was repeated numerous times by the artisan and the elaborate and colourful design was created. After the final dyeing the wax is removed and the finished batik is ready for you to enjoy. Each process is carried out by hand by a skilled artisan
