How We Started We established Wishcraft in Australia in 2006 as a small family-operated business. Fair trade has always been close to our hearts and as we travelled we became very aware of the unacceptable conditions artisans were forced to work in and the unfair wage they received for their skill and hard work. So we decided to try and sell handcraft we were sure was created by well-supported and fairly paid artisans. The only way we could do this for sure was to source through registered Fair Trade suppliers and producers. Wishcraft is a member of the Fair Trade Association of Australia & New Zealand (FTAANZ).
Our Reputation As a family-run small business we, initially, started out online with an EBay store (which we still maintain) so if you'd like reassurance regarding our reputation please click here for positive feedback from satisfied customers (a new window will open). We are now an online retailer but we also sell our collection at select Craft Fairs in Australia and in Ireland. We have many happy cusomers from all over the world.

What We Hope To Achieve:
A sustainable and growing business relationship with our Partner Artisan Producers. The more we can sell the more we can buy from our Artisan friends. The more regular our orders the more they in turn can build their own businesses and have a reliable income. We always pay the price quoted and we always pay up front.
To spread the word about Fair Trade through our website and by meeting our customers at Craft Fairs and Markets.
To help in some small way to preserve traditional craft design and methods and the skills of local communities. The textile craft is skilfully hand-embroidered (also hand-dyed and/or hand-loomed in some cases) by our Artisan Partners. The work is time-consuming, truly a labour of love. We know when you see the workmanship that has gone into each item you'll see your purchase was well worth the money.
To build a reputation for beautiful handcrafted quality goods and great customer service!
